"Sachsen Uncle" has given the highlight the title "Catholic Church Hoya".
The church depicted in the photos was neither Catholic nor is it a church now.
The former Protestant church has long been de-dedicated and converted into a cultural center.

The Catholic Church of St. Michael is located nearby on the roundabout (in the park), but is not shown here.

Hoya's landmark is located on a former Weserwerder. The 900-year-old St. Martini Church (main parts of today's church, however, date from 1750) together with the neighboring vicarage and behind it the building complex of the von Staffhorst manor house from the 18th century and the nearby public park form a unique one historical ensemble.

Inside the church is the oldest tombstone of the Counts of Hoya. The church was founded in 1967 by the Ev. national church abandoned. It is now used as a cultural center and offers concerts, readings, etc. a stylish setting for civil weddings with the possibility of a drink with up to 100 guests.
