Great stretch except for the bike paths that could be better

The "Neudorfer Moor" nature reserve is a rewetting area.
The “Neudorfer Moor” nature reserve is part of what was formerly the same moor complex as the Lengener Meer and the Stapeler Moor. It represents a rewetting area of great importance. Here you can observe many different species of birds from a lookout tower on the east side. A few years ago a black-headed gull colony settled here. Black-necked grebes, for example, breed in their protection. On the west side there are two covered wooden pavilions with further information about the NSG. In summer the bike path along the Neudorfer Moor is characterized by the numerous occurrences of dragonflies. The 338 hectare protected area preserves a comparatively small section of the formerly huge East Frisian central moors. The area is intended to serve as a retreat and habitat for typical upland moor species, especially after renaturation.
