Tips

  • The road from the Isère Valley to Autrans, which runs through the tunnel (e), was built for the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Games. Cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions were held in Autrans, and the ski jumping hill there also dates from this time. Since the road is endangered by falling rocks, it was left to decay.

  • The road and tunnel were built for the 1968 Olympics. After several landslides of the road, the tunnel remained closed intermittently for maybe 30 years

  • The road between Montaud is interrupted by a 150 m wide rock fall. There is now a footpath where you can carry your bike. However, the area does not invite you to linger (despite the great view).
