High above the spa town of Regen, the majestic ruin of Burg Weissenstein towers over a quartz rock. Although only a few walls and towers have survived the huge complex, you get a great impression of the former dimensions. Every two years a big knight's spectacle takes place at the castle. Otherwise, you can also explore the castle from April to October on your own and climb up to the keep - the climb is worth it, because the view is really unique.

The walls of the Weißenstein castle ruins can be seen high above the district town of Regen. The mighty castle once offered protection to the land and its people and served as the seat of ministers.

The Weißenstein castle ruins are enthroned at around 750 m above sea level, directly on the white quartz rock of the pile that stretches through the Bavarian Forest.

From the castle, built on pile quartz rock, you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the "northern forest" at dizzying heights.
