The tunnel mouth hole "𝑴𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏" was created before 1662, in that year it had a length of 30 puddles (approx. 60 m) and was named "Tiefer Stollen", because today's deep tunnel did not yet exist.
At the end of the 18th century it was renamed to its current name.
In 1856 it was over 700 m long, plus numerous cross passages.
The mouth hole at 360 m above sea level brings a depth of 70 m to the mining area.
The tunnel is located in the Cleeberger district and parallel to the Cleeberg-Espa border, only to change to the Espa side shortly before the mining area.
Construction time several decades.
The mouth hole is still intact and the tunnel was still accessible in the 1980s.
