So this beautiful section is officially called Pastor-Bode-Weg. It is part of the Pastor Bode hiking trail from the Lüneburg St. Michael's Church to Wilseder Berg. Pastor Bode went this way in 1877 as a young man with his father. This hike has deeply impressed him and contributed his admiration to this heathland.naturpark-lueneburger-heide.de/aktiv-und-mobil-in-der-heide/wandern/pastor-bode-wegAlso on this section runs the Heidschnuckenweg from Undeloh to Niederhaverbeck (Stage 4). The "Heidschnuckenweg"
The Heidschnuckenweg lands in 3rd place, in 2019
This section from Undeloh to Niederhaverbeck was awarded by the readers of the German Hiking Magazine. The Heidschnuckenweg is a figurehead for the entire Lüneburg Heath.
The "Heidschnuckenweg" is again one of the three most popular hiking routes in Germany. Only the hiking trail Wilde Endert and the Kaiserstuhl path are even more popular with hikers.
Tourist attraction for the entire region
The German Hiking Magazine had nominated the stage of the Heidschnuckenweg between Undeloh and Niederhaverbeck as one of only 14 hiking routes nationwide for the title "Germany's most beautiful hiking trail". An expert jury has selected these routes from more than 100 trails. The Heidschnuckenweg was there for the third time in the competition: The quality trail has already in 2013 in the election of "Germany's most beautiful trails" occupied an excellent third place, in the following year won the stage between Buchholz and Handeloh even the choice of Germany's most beautiful hiking trail.
The Heidschnuckenweg was opened in 2012 and enjoys great popularity among hiking friends throughout Germany. The 223-kilometer hiking trail leads from Hamburg-Fischbek via Buchholz, Wilsede, Soltau to Celle. In these seven years, the trail has been awarded many times. He has the certificate "Quality Hiking Wanderers Germany" of the German Hiking Association and was included in the network "Top Trails - Germany's most beautiful trails".
