The church is a Gothic stone block construction from the end of the 14th century. The baroque tower from 1755 placed in front of the middle of the northern long side is unusual; it is octagonal from bottom to top with a diameter of 6.55 m, basement in brick, then two floors in Half-timbered brick construction, the alliance coat of arms of those of v.Rieben - v.Münchow can be seen above the entrance door, the tower has a baroque, bell-shaped hood. Two bronze bells hang in the tower, there is also an old clockwork.
Today the church belongs to ev.-luth. Parish of Schwichtenberg / Gehren in the Friedland Propstei.
