The ascent to the Wetterkreuz near Reit im Winkl is a short but rewarding hike with beautiful panoramic views. The trail usually starts in the town center or at the hiking car park and leads uphill through forests and meadows on well-marked paths. After about 45–60 minutes, you reach the striking summit cross at 1,064 m. Once at the top, you'll be treated to a magnificent view over Reit im Winkl, the Chiemgau Alps, and, on clear days, even the Kaiser Mountains. The Wetterkreuz summit is ideal as a half-day hike or a short family outing.
