After the victory over Napoleon, a group of four oak trees was planted in 1814. Three of them fell victim to city fires over the years.

Hiking

The oak tree stands in the center of the triangular market square. In 1815, the square was named after the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III, and linden trees were planted around the oak to beautify the square. In 1864, another peace oak was added.
