Hiking

The oldest of the three Oberhöchstädter fountains was built shortly before the end of the 17th century. This is revealed by one of the upper crossbars, on which the year 1699 is carved. The "eight-sided, tile-covered pointed helmet" above the stone well was used to protect against rain and storms. When fetching water every evening was part of the villagers' daily routine, the wells were important places for communication.
