Perfect paved bike trail between Chalon-sur-Saône and Macôn on a flat former railroad grade, passing some beautiful castles, monasteries, and communities nestled in a lush rural area. This is said to be one of the first such rail-to-trail conversions in France, where dedicated bike trails were developed rather late. The example has meanwhile been replicated in many other parts of the country.
