Madonna dei Canti Summit

Climbing from an altitude of 1399 m a.s.l. of the panoramic ridge of the Three Beeches, after crossing a beech forest, you go along the crest of Zuc Pralongone at 1503 m a.s.l. and with suggestive passages between rocks overlooking the valley you reach the Madonna dei Canti at 1563 m a.s.l.From here the view also opens onto the Taleggio Valley.

Up here, there is no summit cross greeting the hiker, but a statue of the Mother of God. Here, she is not carrying the baby Jesus in her arms, as is usual in many depictions, but has her hands slightly spread out to the sides at hip height, thus opening her cloak/cape a little. This type is usually referred to as the "Protective Cloak Madonna".The prayer "Under your protection and shelter we flee,O Holy Mother of God..." is often addressed to Mary.
