The Gredl Railway once rolled from Greding via Thalmässing and Heideck to Hilpoltstein. Today are on theirs
Cyclists use the former route. Some kilometer stones and display boards provide insight into the history of the railway along the scenic route. From Greding, follow the signs for the Gredl cycle path, past the beaver nature trail, to Thalmässing. As they continue their journey towards Steindl, the cyclists pass the highest point on the route on the main European watershed: from here the water flows south into the Black Sea and north into the
North Sea. The reward for the climb is a wonderful view. We continue through pine forests to Heideck before reaching the lowest point of the tour at the Schweizermühle. From here it is not far to the castle town of Hilpoltstein.
