Tips
When Staatsbosbeheer purchased Dwingeloo forestry at the beginning of the last century, the area consisted of dry and wet heaths and sand drifts. The rangers planted scots pine, the main purpose of which was to produce wood for the coal mines. Today it is a mixed forest with deciduous trees.
