With 1028 meters of height, Slavnik is one of the highest peaks of the Slovenian Istria and part of the Čičarija landscape. On its top, Tuma Hut, named after the Slovenian mountaineer Henrik Tuma, and a broadcast transmitter.

Mt Slavnik is characterized by a very broad panorama. Looking to the northeast, Kamnik-Savinja Alps and mt Nanos, then mt Vremščica, and Brkini hills. Looking to the east, mt Javorniki, mt Trojica and mt Snežnik, and the more distant Gorski Kotar, and Risnjak. From the east to the south, the Kvarner Gulf and Gulf of Trieste offer a breathtaking view. Towards the west, also the coast of the Adriatic sea with Venice and, on a particularly clear day, the Dolomites and the Julian Alps.
