Ströhe-Spreddig Local History Museum

The museum complex is maintained and looked after by the local heritage association. The premises can be rented for events and civil weddings. On the upper floor of the Heimathaus there is an exhibition in which you can admire a complete set of school equipment and looms. When the museum is open, there is usually cake and coffee that you baked yourself. So great for a break.

The local association Ströhe / Spreddig e.V. was founded on May 3, 1991. At the suggestion of the then city councilor, Hans-Georg Taube, 29 other citizens met and held the founding meeting in the Ströhe home. The home association now has around 240 members. His duties include the care of his homeland and the study of its history through historical homeland studies with special regard to the Low German language in music and literature. The Heimatverein also serves to preserve monuments and to preserve historical buildings and equipment that were collected on the grounds of the museum grounds and in the museum of the Heimathaus.
