Until 1895, it was possible to travel between Ricklingen Castle and Luthe on a ferry that the ferryman Friedrich Bradenstahl had leased and maintained. The Von Woyna Bridge, named after the then district administrator, was opened in 1895, and the access road had to be rebuilt from Luthe and Ricklingen Castle.
