All sculptures are made of oak wood and come from the artist Georg Maurus from Greifenstein in Hesse. It's hard to believe that he can create these lifelike and expressive shapes with chainsaws.
Most of his sculptures are on the Haard Grenzweg in Oer-Erkenschwick, which was decorated as a forest promenade in 2020, some also on the Hohe Mark Steig, for example in the Schwärmwald (Schermbeck) and in the Haard (Datteln, Oer-Erkenschwick). Each individual sculpture symbolizes and is reminiscent of a peculiarity of the respective location. In every object there is not only craftsmanship, but also a lot of brain power.

Very nicely laid out rest area at the edge of the hair with great wooden sculptures and a distant view over the fields towards Marl and Recklinghausen!
