Here are some more photos of the old Emscher estuary. It still looks good from the Rhine, but from behind it it is a rather sad sight. In contrast, the new, renaturalized Emscher estuary into the Rhine looks all the more beautiful, even wonderful. Millions of euros were spent on this, but at least visually it was worth it.
