It is interesting that St. The Church of the Virgin Mary Scapular was built on the site of an old brick chapel. The latter appeared in the resort in 1842–1844, the author is believed to have been one of the architects of the Grodno province. The building was of neo-Gothic form, almost square in plan, with a broken roof, with a tower in the middle, its volume more reminiscent of the tradition of Orthodox than Catholic prayers. In 1909, with the idea of building a new, larger and more spacious church on the site of the chapel, Warsaw architect Stefan Schiller prepared a project; construction began in 1912, the founder - priest Boleslaw Valejka. In 1914, with the outbreak of World War I, the construction of the church came to a halt without the bricklaying of the tower and the installation of the interior. Finally, in 1931, these houses of prayer were completed and have not undergone any major changes to this day.
