Location: North Inch And Muirton, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, United Kingdom
North Inch is an area of parkland to the north of Perth town centre. Situated on the west bank of the River Tay, the area has been prone to flooding. Since 1999, flood prevention measures have been put in place, with the construction of defensive bunds or embankments along the riverside. The park is most famous as the scene of the Battle of the North Inch. In 1396, thirty representatives of the Clan Chattan and thirty from the Clan Kay fought in an attempt to settle a feud. This was one of the last judicial combats, or trials by combat, to be fought in Scotland.
Along with the South Inch, Perth Harbour, Moncrieff Island and a number of specific buildings, North Inch forms part of the Perth Common Good and as such is maintained by a specific fund for the good of the people of the town.

A very nice smooth flat wide asphalt shared-use path runs alongside the River Tay. Part of the National Cycle Route 77. The route makes for a potentially 'fast' off-road journey.
