Until 1953 the inn "Zur Guten Hope" stood here. The owners of the restaurant, the Fritzlar family, were expelled by the GDR government and the economy was demolished. With the exception of a Kastanienbaum group, there is nothing left to see of the stately economy.
The inn was built in 1547 and was very popular due to its location between Treffurt, Falken, Heyerode, Diedorf, Wendehausen and Schierschwende. (Source: "Schierschwende Dorfgeschichte" Gisela Degenhardt, Mecke Druck 2017)
