This Roman complex near Burgsalach was long considered a very well-preserved small fort. According to the latest research, however, there is no evidence of a military building, and a moat has not been proven. With increasing research, it turned out that some facilities, which were assigned to the military area due to their defensive appearance, were used for civil purposes, for example in the area of state postal and communications. This probably also applies to the "Burgus" in Burgsalach, which can be classified as a Roman hostel ("mansio") for travelers. There are three different models of a Burgus, furthermore 3 display boards give an overview of the research history and the excavations. Very well preserved building.
