The chapel is a nice (intermediate) destination in the Taubenberg area. It is located in a small clearing in the forest above the Farnbachtal. The first chapel at "Niederpronnen" was built around 1710-1720. The previous building of today's chapel fell victim to a devastating fire in 1940. It and the associated hermitage were rebuilt in 1945/46 and consecrated in 1946 by Cardinal Michael Faulhaber. Every year on September 15th, pilgrims from Osterwarngau make a pilgrimage up the Taferlweg to Nüchternbrunn. Even today, the spring water is considered an elixir for healing or alleviating eye ailments.
