Very impressive to look at, there are two former mills along the trail, of which unfortunately only the foundations have been preserved. The first records of an economic use of hydropower in the Harterbach Gorge date back to 1285. Unfortunately, during a major flood in the 19th century, almost all of the former 12 (!) Mills in the gorge were completely destroyed. The remains of the wall of the two mills still preserved are impressive witnesses of a time when there was a lot of economic activity in this small gorge. On the left side of the wall of the Habernigmühle you can still see the vane inside the mill and a metal tire that held the water wheel together.
