Tips
The groundbreaking ceremony took place in 1926, and on 18 April 1928 the airport was opened with a runway. In 1937 it was the fourth largest airport in Germany. 1957-1960 a new runway was built with a length of 2500, which was only used since 1963 for four weeks a year.
In 1968, the new reception building was built, which was used outside the four fair weeks as a motorway rest stop. Since 1972 the Dauerflugbetrieb was taken up. In 1998, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the new runway, as well as new construction of the airport.translated by
