The existing plant in Siggenthal since 1912 is one of the largest cement plants in Switzerland. The plant produces more than 900,000 tonnes of cement annually and employs around 110 people. The raw materials are supplied by the quarry Gabenchopf.

The quarry has considerable dimensions and can be observed from various points (weekdays). In some places it has specially prepared Fehrngläser. Information boards inform you about the quarry.

Of course, many times described and of course you have to have seen that. Simply impressive this quarry. Just stop by the viewing platform and take the time to marvel from left to right. Once seen then enough already. But the area around it with the infinite trails makes for all MTB heart beat faster. Thanks to Komoot you can find even the smallest trails. Just dare, even through the bushes it goes on.

Impressive quarry, didn't even know that we have such large limestone quarries in Switzerland.
