    History of the manor
The history of the estate has been very eventful over the centuries and has seen many changes of ownership.
In 1527 a gentleman from Mandelsloh finally bought the "Dugenthorp Desert" for 1000 Rhenish guilders from the Count of Wunstorf.
Since then, the estate has been in the von Mandelsloh family. The current manor house was built in 1850 as a half-timbered building after a fire on the old stone walls of a former moated castle.
Over time, farm buildings, grain barns and workers' houses were built here. Extensive stables for cattle, sheep and horses were housed in the farm building.
In addition to the management of the property, the respective owners held administrative offices in Hanover and later also in Berlin.
After the death of Adolf von Mandelslohs, his stepson took over
Gerd Tofahrn (dated December 29, 2017) managed the estate, who in turn passed it on to his son Arndt Tofahrn.

Already around 700, Wunstorf, where the Düendorf manor is located, was documented. The lands came into the possession of the monastery of Wunstorf in 871 through a donation from King Ludwig the German, which probably caused the manor to be built around 1200. In the first centuries of its existence, the estate changed hands numerous times. Apparently, they were not lucky with the estate, because in the 16th century it only appears in chronicles as deserted, i.e. completely depopulated. The lords of Mandelsloh used this opportunity in 1527 to buy the Düendorf manor from the Counts of Wunstorf for only 1000 guilders. After the moated castle, which had previously formed the core building of the Düendorf manor, burned down, the current manor house was built in 1850. Farm buildings, stables, workers' houses and barns were also rebuilt over the next 100 years. The agricultural operation of the estate was also expanded, and the operation has now been expanded to include a boarding stable with a riding hall. The Düendorf manor is still inhabited and run by the descendants of the von Mandelsloh family. For this reason, the manor house can only be viewed from the outside.
