One of the most remarkable windmill hulls in Flanders can be found in Melsen. The Stone Mill was built in 1771 as an octagonal stone ground sailor, but was raised higher in the 19th century with a round, slightly conical superstructure. For example, a stone scaffolding mill was formed with 15 masonry pillars.
