Premer Lechsee, about 120 hectares in size and over 4 km long, is a reservoir and connects to the southern Lech dam at Forggensee; north of the Premer Lechsee is the Lechsee near Lechbruck. The Lech is dammed at Prem by a dam that is almost three kilometers long. The dam was built in the late 1960s to make hydropower usable. The Premer Lechsee, also known as Lech Reservoir 2, is a popular fishing area. In the vicinity there are varied hiking trails with wonderful views of the Ammer Mountains.
