In the middle of the Schwanheim Forest, surrounded by old oak trees, the landscape opens up into wide meadows.
Under the big tree next to the "Struwwelpeter" you can rest wonderfully in summer.

The Schwanheimer Wiese is the largest forest meadow in Frankfurt. If it conveys such an impressive feeling of space, it is due to human intervention: If the Schwanheimer need suffered, they cleared their forest, sold the wood - and leased the open space as a meadow or field. Today there are several informative hiking trails, including the GrünGürtel circular route through the area, which also contains the bizarre Struwwelpeter tree.
