The Molenviergang in the Tweemanspolder in Zevenhuizen consists of four mills connected one after the other which, for almost two centuries, jointly maintained the polder level. To bridge the difference in height between the polder level and the level of the river Rotte (approx. 4.5 mtr), four mills are needed since the lifting height of a mill is max. 1.2 - 1.5 mtr. is. This unique four-mill mill was in full operation until 1952. In that year, an electric pumping station took over the task. Unforgettable is the commitment at the end of the war in 1945 when the flooded polder was ground dry in a few weeks of day and night. The mills are still fully intact and capable of grinding, so they can resume their old duties in the event of an emergency. The mills themselves are now inhabited and therefore cannot be visited. Of course you can admire it from outside. From the water and from the bike paths you have a beautiful view of this mill.
