The Danish National Gallery is located in Frederikborg Slot.
The museum goes back to one of the many initiatives of J.C. Jacobsen, the founder of the Carlsberg breweries, 1878 back. The collection has been extended several years ago with an important section on the 20th century.
The museum is also open on Mondays at the request of the founder.
