The Hottat domain and the castle of the same name 'Chateau Corbeeck' already appear on the Ferraris map (1771-1775). It was purchased in 1836 by Baron de Dieudonné de Corbeeck-over-Loo, a family that included several mayors of Korbeek-Lo and who maintained friendships with the Belgian king.
The castle contained a unique collection of paintings and household goods, but was completely destroyed in the fire of Leuven in 1914. At the start of the First World War, King Albert stayed there for a few days, when he directed the Belgian army from Leuven.
