Saint Hubertus, to whom the Erkensruhr chapel is dedicated, lived from 655 to 727 and is a very popular saint, best known as the patron saint of hunters. A stag with a glowing cross between its antlers is said to have appeared to him, which is why it is often shown on Hubertus portraits. This legend was originally attributed to Saint Eustace and over time 'migrated' to Hubertus.
His memorial day in the calendar of saints is November 3rd.

After the Second World War, the residents tried to build their own church. This is how today's branch church was built in 1948.
