The anniversary hiking trail from Amberg to Schnaittenbach was officially inaugurated on May 1, 2004. The reason for this new hiking trail was the double anniversary that Schnaittenbach and the Amberg section of the Bavarian Forest Association celebrated that year: 50 years earlier, Schnaittenbach had been elevated to the status of a city, and Waldverein had just celebrated its 75th anniversary. From the brick gate in Amberg to the town hall in Schnaittenbach, 22 km have to be mastered. By the way: In 1954, the city of Amberg was the inspiration for the city survey of Schnaittenbach.
