On the mountain range, which starts at the Angelburg (mountain) and runs out in the Gießener Becken, also ran the route of a, possibly already prehistoric Höhenweg (Westfalenweg), which today follows the L 3047 from the Zollbuche. The name Zollbuche probably dates back to the time when the area of power of the Gleiberger counts ended here (1075-1129). The Zollbuche marked until 1628 the border between Hesse-Darmstadt and the county of Solms. Until that time, the area around Hohensolms and Königsberg belonged together Hesse and Solms. In a contract of October 30, 1628 Hessen renounced the office Hohensolms, the other part, the office Königsberg came to Hesse and thus also the territory of the municipality Bischoffen with the customs book. Due to the Hessian territorial reform of 1974, the area of today's community Bischoffen, which had previously belonged to the district of Biedenkopf, the newly formed Lahn -Dill circle slammed. This shifted the circular border. In the case of the Zollbuche, the circular border between the counties Marburg-Biedenkopf and Lahn-Dill-Kreis runs today.
