The name Zollbuche probably dates back to the time when the area of power of the Gleiberger counts ended here (1075-1129). The Zollbuche marked until 1628 the border between Hesse-Darmstadt and the county of Solms. Until that time, the area around Hohensolms and Königsberg belonged together Hesse and Solms. In a contract of October 30, 1628 Hessen renounced the office Hohensolms, the other part, the office Königsberg came to Hesse and thus also the territory of the municipality Bischoffen with the customs book.
