If you like it quaint, this is the place for you! - Beautiful old villa that is now operated as a hotel and restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful, the restaurant seems good value for money. Since the opening times were unfortunately wrong on the Internet (only until 7 p.m.) we ate in the mill. At 9:00 p.m. the restaurant was still served diligently (and it looked quite delicious). When the weather is nice you can also sit in the garden ...
The family rooms for 4 people are very practical and inexpensive!
DISADVANTAGE: you have to do quite a mountain tour shortly before the end of the stage ...
Last year we stayed in the old "syringe house" (Hotel Garni in Diez), which is much less on the mountain but was no longer free.

In any case, the "ascent" is worthwhile - a magnificent view from the room on the 2nd floor. Very friendly staff and well-kept house! Versatile kitchen-top price-performance ratio! Breakfast - rich for 8.50 eu.

The Villa Oranien was built in 1879 by the then District Administrator Joseph Rolshoven for his wife Marie. Two years later he was called to Stralsund by the royal government and had to sell his house. An eventful history followed in the turmoil of two world wars. Among other things, after the Second World War it served the French occupation troops as the “Delegues du Cercle d‘Unterlahn”, the war delegate and administration house. From 1954, spa guests underwent healing treatment here, according to the methods of the clay pastor “Felke, who was also considered the father of complex homeopathy. In 1997 the villa was extensively renovated and opened as the “Oranien” hotel. The Kiessling family took over the management in 2017
