Buchen Fools' Fountain

The Fool's Fountain is Buchen's landmark. With this, the sculptor Joseph Michael Neustifter from Eggenfelden made a memorial to the Buchen fools.The fountain shows the customs figures Blecker, Huddelbätz, Straw Bear, Krähwinkler, Wagenradsänger, Härle and Frale, Krachkapelle and Müller. When circling the fountain, new details catch the eye. It reminds me a bit of looking at hidden object books. When I was here, the rising sun cast many dark shadows. A cloudy day or when the sun is rather low is certainly a better time, so you want to look at the fountain in detail. What you can't guess when you look at it: Even beer or wine should flow from the Blecker shape on certain occasions.
