The Pfeiferhütte (with an “f”) was first mentioned in 1583. The forester at the time, Caspar Pfeifer, is said to have built it as a shelter for hunting guests and his forestry workers. The current hut is from 1953. There is a nice barbecue area next to it, which is not so crowded because it cannot be reached directly by car.
Occasionally there is also entertainment provided by a club at the hut.
