Cross the river at Amberley and head up the short climb to North Stoke. Turn left and the paved surface turns into fairly smooth gravel linking up Stoke with Burpham. Views over the Arun and towards the sea.

Road cycling

Mix of surfaces. The ascent was perfect on a pair of 32mm slicks. The descent was a lot more mixed including loose rocks, chalk and tarmac. Inevitably there was a need to walk part of the trail. But fun nonetheless.

Difficult flint surface was too much for my gravel bike ,so I had to walk at times but it was well worth it for the views, lack of traffic and convenient way across the Downs. the gates at the end have gaps for a bike but perhaps not a tricycle.
