Monti Scìaga, that's the name of the small village in the mountains. It is a hamlet that belongs to Indemini, the most remote village in Switzerland.
Viewed from a distance, the hamlet does not appear to be a forgotten place. But anyone who crosses the Giona stream and climbs the path soon realizes that most of the houses have collapsed and only the walls are still standing.

Hiking

The community lies on the slopes of the Veddasca valley, which - apart from this tip - is already part of Italy. From the village, the view stretches across the entire valley to Lake Maggiore. A 20 km long, winding pass road separates Monti Scìaga from the neighboring town of Gambarogno.
