Life rages in the Beiaard forest. The brook Beiaardbeek meanders through forests, flowering meadows and wooded banks. Most of the forest consists of old oaks and beeches and valleys with multiple springs, which ensures wet, varied and different biotopes.
When a beech tree dies, it becomes the breeding ground for trees and shrubs such as hazel, bilberry, medlar, hawthorn or holly. In spring you can walk through a dense carpet of flowers made of wood anemone, wild hyacinth, yellow deadnettle. If you are quiet, you can spot nuthatches, tawny owls and buzzards.
