The historic ruin of the Bell Church is idyllically situated on the Steigerberg. In 2019, the 500th anniversary of the church standing on solidified sand was celebrated and prehistoric finds even show that this place has been used by people for religious and cultural purposes for a much longer time.

I find the discussion about naming interesting, because there are many theories about it: The reference to the mighty poplars (= barking), which still characterized the image at the foot of the church at the beginning of the 20th century, is mentioned most often.
