In Holzgerlingen you get not only one bird, but several ... to see. Everywhere in the city they bustle, whether on a company roof, in public places or along the bike path. The background to this is the “StadtArt” campaign, which was launched on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of Holzgerlingen in 2007. Since then, countless sculptures of owls and ravens, about two meters high, have inspired public space - by the way, these are the heraldic animals of the city. They were painted by hand by artists, designers, seniors, students, school classes and kindergartens, making every single sculpture unique. In addition to a large number of birds, the large wooden negative mold is also on display here on the bike path.

Owls and ravens - StadtArt Holzgerlingen 2007:
On April 28, 2007, the large sculptures (50 owls and 36 ravens, which got "growth" in the course of the festival year) were presented to the public on the town hall square in the ceremony of a large bird parade. The birds stopped in the city even after the anniversary year. There is more about the owls and ravens at: eulenwelt.de/fundeulen_holzgerlingen.htm
