Hinterbrühler See

Hinterbrühler See is a small body of water in Munich's Thalkirchen district. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century by the construction of the Isar works channel and a branching raft channel (Ländkanal). During the construction work, a backwater of the river Isar was separated from the main river and partially filled in the southern part. In addition, the lake was enlarged by gravel excavation for the dams of the canal. The water is fed by a small concrete pipe with Isarwasser and probably also has connection to the groundwater. In the north and west are two outflows in the Ländkanal. In the lake there is a small island, which is accessed via a wooden pier. Very close to the lake is the Gasthof Hinterbrühl. At the south end is the statue "Der Isarflößer". The Hinterbrühler See is, together with the directly adjacent green area, a protected landscape area.

A quiet spot that invites you to linger. At Hinterbrühler Seehaus you can rent rowboats and enjoy a little refreshment. The sausage salad is very recommendable :-)
