View from Frauenberg Sondershausen

The Frauenberg was probably already a cult site, a sacrificial site, and a castle-fortification complex with four sections in pre-Christian times. During the GDR era, an East German radio tower of the NVA (National People's Army) was located on the mountain plateau. Today, you can enjoy the views "of the countryside," which are also well explained by numerous information panels.

The view of Sondershausen and the surrounding mountains is beautiful, but the ascent from the city is brutal. It is better to plan the tour so that the mountain is taken from the west flank.
