The East Coast Trail is the insider tip among North America's long-distance hiking trails. It runs along the rugged and lonely east coast of Newfoundland and impresses with its wild beauty. One section, called the Spout Path, is the most strenuous stage on the East Coast Trail, but is one of the most beautiful. Dramatic sea cliffs, imposing rock needles and several waterfalls are the striking points along the trail, which are crowned by "The Spout", a cold water geyser powered by sea water.
