Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe

The Kaiser Franz-Josef-Höhe is located at 2369m altitude and can be reached via the toll road Grossglockner High Alpine Road. It is the most famous vantage point to see the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner. The Kaiser Franz-Josef-Höhe is also the starting point for numerous hikes in the Glockner group.

If you are traveling very early in the morning, you can watch ibex at the Gamsgrubenweg.

Starting point for many tours on the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in Austria. In the visitor center, you can get valuable information about this high-alpine region with the largest glacier in the Eastern Alps. In good weather you get a breathtaking panorama over the highest mountains in the Hohe Tauern National Park.
