Throughout asphalted road that takes you to the Rotmurg spring and up to the Ruhestein. Guaranteed car and motorcycle free, completely located in the national park. You can still hear the motorcycles on the Ruhesteinstrasse on the other side of the valley, no wonder with the noise they make, that naturally disturbs the national park idyll.
The asphalt is of varying quality, quite new and flawless below, further up with major damage and in some places also with grass cover. Uphill also recommended for racing bikes, but downhill you have to be careful.

Car-free access to Ruhestein. Unfortunately, the nearby race track can't be completely blocked out, but at least you're undisturbed. There are also several fountains along the way – ideal for summer!

The gradient remains pleasant throughout: ~6% at the bottom, then 2-4% at the top.

The surface is good in the lower third; after that, it gets significantly worse – consistently undulating with a few large potholes where the surface has degenerated into gravel. The very last few meters to Ruhesteinstraße are even worse due to the rough edges in the surface.

The uphill section is also suitable for road bikes with some caution; the downhill section is less so, as you wouldn't want to go faster than 25 km/h without suspension.
